SCENIC DRIVES, TOURS & ACTIVITIES
Historic & Scenic Circle Tour including the Bay of Fundy and Bridgetown
From Annapolis Royal go through Granville Ferry to visit North Hills Museum (3) Melanson Settlement
National Historic Site (38) Port-Royal National Historic Site (2) and Victoria Beach (40). Come back towards
Port-Royal then cross the North Mountain to Delaps Cove Wilderness Trail (1) and the Bay of Fundy shore.
Explore Parker’s Cove, Young’s Cove and the beach at Hampton, then continue South to Bridgetown, and return
to Annapolis Royal via Highway 1 if you want to stop at Kayak Annapolis Royal (39), or come back on the 201 if
you plan to visit the Tupperville School Museum (41). See tour, page 29, for additional details.
Highway 1 to Upper Clements, Digby & Whale Watching
The Annapolis Royal Golf Course (23) is located on Highway 1, only minutes from the Annapolis Royal stoplight
en route to Digby. You’ll soon arrive at Upper Clements Parks (24), then Old St. Edward’s Loyalist Church (25)
and the Cornwallis Military Museum (26). Whale Watching expeditions (42) from Brier Island or Tiverton on
Digby neck are located approximately only one hour from Annapolis Royal. (If you’re going whale watching be
sure to allow plenty of time since ferry schedules are involved.) Refer to page 11 for whale watching info, page 31
for Upper Clements Parks & pages 14 and 19 for other area attractions.
Route 8 to Kejimkujik National Park & National Historic Site
Take Route 8 towards Kejimkujik National Park. The Grist Mill, (22) on the Dugway Road in Lequille, is located
only about 5 minutes from the Annapolis Royal stoplight. Continue on Route 8 towards Kejimkujik (28), only 45
minutes from Annapolis Royal, for camping, canoeing, hiking and cross-country skiing. See page 12 for some of
the special events happening at Keji. Be sure to also stop and enjoy Mickey Hill Pocket Wilderness (27) and
Raven Haven Beachside Family Park (44). For more information on these attractions see pages 21.
Artists’ Studios Tour & Annapolis Basin Conference Centre
See page 14 for details on this creative and colourful tour. If you are looking for a great spot to host a conference,
reunion, wedding or retreat, stop by the beautiful Anapolis Basin Conference Centre (47) on Highway 1.
Arts ‘n Adventures in the Cove & Gael Tours
Travel West on Highway 101 or Highway 1 to discover the streetscapes and seascapes of Digby with Gael Tours,
and take one of their memorable Fundy coast experiences (45). Pick up Highway 217 to Freeport in Digby to
enjoy an artistic, historic, marine or nature workshop from Arts ‘n Adventures in the Cove (43). Freeport is a bit
further, on the other end of Long Island, on Highway 217.
Oaklawn Farm Zoo
To visit Oaklawn Farm Zoo (46), travel East on Highway 101. Take exit # 16, turn right and follow the blue zoo signs.
